PRESENTATION SET (CANADIAN PACIFIC LINE.) "Empress of China" (I). Presentation silver plate tea service by Wilcox of Meriden, CT, including teapot, covered sugar, creamer, and waste; the teapot with etched inscription: "Presented to Mr. & Mrs. Edmonds by the Engineers of Empress of China, Aug. 30th 1902," each of the remaining pieces with an engraved "E;" condition excellent. 1902

Measurements: Tea pot - 6 1/2" tall, 9 1/2" handle to spout. With ebony handle Covered sugar - 5 1/2" high, 7" handle to handle Creamer - 5 1/2" high, 5" handle to spout Waste - 5 1/4" high, 6" handle to handle.
As suggested by her name, the twin-screw liner was engaged in trans-Pacific service. She began service in 1891 between Vancouver and Hong Kong. She was wrecked in 1911 and never returned to service.
