Additional Details

The twin-screw "Empress" began service in 1930 and held the trans-Pacific record for a crossing. In 1942 she entered trans-Atlantic service under the name "Empress of Scotland." She was renamed once again in 1958 when she started service for the Hamburg-Atlantic line as "Hanseatic."
