Oversized album with 26 large photographs by the industrial photographer Dabbs of the Carnegie Steel Mill. With laborers posing next to enormous wheels, chains, and other huge industrial examples of equipment used to rebuild the Homestead Mill. Printing-out paper prints, each approximately 13x10 inches (33x25.4 cm.), and the reverse, mounted recto/verso, each numbered in the margin. Folio, leather, backstrip perished; contents disbound. 1893-95

B.L.H. Dabbs, who was one of Pittsburgh's most prominent photographers, was favored by the city's social elite and captains of industry. He was hired by Andrew Carnegie on more than one occasion, and was singled out as one of the best photographers in the country by the Eastman Kodak Company. He also served as vice-president of the Photographers Association of America.
