Nicholson planned this work as a supplement to his New Carpenter's Guide of 1792 but it is now much scarcer than that title. He also covers the topics of window and shutter installation, the construction of floors, partitions, roofs, shutters, stairs, railings, etc. Thomas Jefferson ordered a copy of this work for the University of Virginia in 1825--O'Neal 65; Berlin 2306.
