Group of 3 daguerreian portraits in special cases, comprising 2 quarter-plates of distaff bibliophiles, the first depicting a British (?) woman displaying an ornate book; the second of 2 sisters, one of whom is pointing to the book on her lap; and the last a sixth-plate portrait of a serious girl; the first in a black lacquer "Leaves and Flower" case with mother-of-pearl inlay; the second in a red morocco case with a hand-tinted floral embellishment; and the third in a black lacquer case with a mother-of-pearl diamond pattern. 1850s
