Russell that were shot in the summer of 1910, with fascinating depictions of large-scale industrial improvements, including dredging and excavation operations, laborers at work, close-ups of heavy machinery, and miscellaneous views of the completed system five years later. Silver prints, 6x8 inches (15.2x20.3 cm.), 31 are mounted to linen or cotton, with Russell's signature and date, in ink, on recto, and many with typewritten caption information on mount recto 1910-17
