Additional Details

Sixteenth-century translation of third-century Greek poet Aratus' epic work relating to astronomy, constellations, and celestial movement. Illustrated by a wonderful double-hemispheric folding map of the Northern and Southern skies largely borrowed from Johannes Honter's celestial charts published in 1541. Subtle differences between the earlier spheres include wind-heads added to the spandrels and a letterpress table in Latin and Greek below containing Morel's imprint dated 1559.
