Inscribed and Signed in Russian to Gershon "Grischa" Swet, an active member of New York's Russian Jewish community. He wrote for the Yiddish Forward and Novo Russko Slovoye among other papers, and was friendly with Yasha Heifetz, Jan Peerce, and Chagall, among others in the city's artistic circles.
