Text translated from Comtes Antiques, 1929, Paris editions du bois sacrè, by David Ball. The type was set by Mackenzie-Harris, San Francisco. This book was designed by Alan James Robinson and Arthur Larson. Small folio, in a unique binding of full black leather gilt by peter geraty, with all illustrations watercolored and two original watercolored drypoints bound in. A separate suite contains a pencil drawing, 6 artist's proofs, 12 working proofs, the other 3 drypoints, and 5 state proofs. All housed in a slubbed cloth folding box with gilt spine label, the inside cover housing the original metal plate used for the binding stamp of a swan in flight before a full moon. a unique copy, with a full leather binding by peter geraty, and with original hand-watercolored plates bound in and a special suite. A Typed Letter Signed by Robinson and Geraty describing this copy is laid inside the suite. A Signed full prospectus and a single-sheet prospectus inscribed and for Dick Callaway is laid in, as is a keepsake printed to mark the occasion of a 75th birthday party for printer Harold McGrath, November 23rd, 1996, Signed by Robinson. McGrath printed the wood engravings for this work.
