first edition of schulz's first collection of cartoons about charlie brown, snoopy, and the gang. Contains Schulz's favorite strips from the first two and-a-half years of publication of his beloved comic strip. The cartoons in this volume were never reprinted in any other title unlike most other Peanuts cartoons, which have appeared in numerous collections. The cartoons differ from the characters Schulz would soon finalize; they are all younger, with smaller heads and larger bodies. Schroeder, Lucy, and Linus are infants, and Snoopy is a puppy who has not yet been given any thought balloons. A lovely copy, with no markings upon the strips.
