Album compiled by a German officer containing over 200 photographs of China after the Rebellion comprising a number of gruesome views of decapitated bodies in the streets intermingled with quaint images of local peasants and street merchants as well as German officers enjoying outings around Peking and Tientsin, military parades, temples and palaces, women in traditional clothing, and more; with 5 hand-colored albumen photographs of Japanese temples and 10 postcards. Silver and printing-out paper prints, 2 1/2x4 to 5 1/2x8 inches; mounted one to 8 per page recto/verso; with handwritten captions, in German, on the mounts.
