Group of more than 25 compelling portraits primarily of native women, including a study of a woman's (bound) foot, another depicting "Chinese woman with small feet," a pair of oval-shaped prints of ladies riding in a rickshaw (one is hand-colored), 4 beautifully hand-colored studies of young women in fashionable Chinese costumes, groups of female musicians, a Mongol princess, and miscellaneous views depicting the hardscrabble life of a woman vendor, rickshaw drivers, criminals, a cabinet card of Chinese-Americans in San Francisco's Chinatown by Carleton Watkins, and more. Albumen prints, sizes ranging from 5 1/4x4 to 10 3/4x8 inches (13.3x10.2 to 27.3x20.3 cm.), several with handwritten captions on mounts recto that are dated 1876. 1870s
