(CHINA--MILITARY SERVICE)
An album with well over 700 snapshots, largely featuring China. 1935-38; 1941-44.
A neatly-organized and exhaustive album largely documenting the life and collected photographs of soldiers stationed in China ("Shan Hai Kuan"), including outings and touring and as well as documenting "maneuvers," Peking (Beijing), the beginnings of armed conflict with Japan, and local events. The later part of the album also includes images apparently made at home and on travels in America, as well as a handful of images from apparent military stations in Europe during 1941-44. Including some news clippings and many with careful captions. Silver prints, the images largely measuring approximately 2½x4 inches (6.3x10.2 cm.), and the reverse, the sheets usually slightly larger, cornered to album pages recto/verso. Oblong folio, red lacquer cover with ivory inlay; tied binding.

WITH--An additional album that shows years prior, including travel and scenes Panama, as well as a framed portrait, possibly depicting the owner.
