Jacob Driesbach (1807-1877), a native of upstate Schoharie County, New York whose stage name was Herr Driesbach, was a renowned lion tamer who performed across the country from 1842 onward. He inscribed this portrait "Herr Driesbach to Nancy Driesbach, March the 22nd 1853." We trace no other examples--at auction, in OCLC, or elsewhere.
