Additional Details

A piece of sheet music celebrating the integration of Central High School in Little Rock. We can find nothing on this piece's illustrator Speed Williams, or Mary Maloney who wrote the music. The lyricist was the Rev. Albert Howard Hamilton (1889-1982), an A.M.E. minister who spent most of his later career in Albuquerque but was listed in the 1956 Pueblo, CO directory. He later wrote a memoir, "One Year Spent in Slavery, and its Perils." None traced in OCLC or at auction, although we find one copy at Wisconsin Historical Society.
