a letter with excellent content. Bunche writes "I feel it is a very special privilege to introduce this inspired young leader to New York friends. Dr. King and his associates in Montgomery, strongly supported by the Negro citizens of that city, are contributing magnificently to our great American tradition of resistance to injustice. Sentenced to 386 days imprisonment, he is now free pending appeal. . . . ." Bunche goes on to say that Thurgood Marshall and Roy Wilkins have added their voices and that the evening will be an inspiring one.
