The landmark anti-segregation case Brown v. Board of Education first came to the Supreme Court in the spring of 1953, but was postponed to the October session because of its complexity. There it was reargued while the justices attempted to develop a consensus against segregation. The case would not be decided until May 1954.
Offered here is a briefing book assembled for the reargument. It was published in 1953 per the imprint on the final page. The title as it appears on the front wrapper is "Nos. 1, 2, 4, 8, 10.
