(CIVIL RIGHTS.) Charles H. Williams. Long Hot Summer, I'm Not Mad at You. Poster, 9 3/4 x 14 1/2 inches; moderate soiling and dampstaining, tack hole in upper margin. [New Jersey?]: Peace in Progress, 1968

Additional Details

This simple message of peace and reconciliation was produced in the wake of the long, hot summer of 1967, which saw rioting in Newark, NJ, Detroit, and more than a hundred other places across the country.

Provenance: acquired from a New Jersey collector who stated that it was issued in response to the Newark riots. We have found nothing else on the copyright holder's artistic endeavors, or on the sponsoring organization, Peace in Progress. We trace no other examples of this poster at auction, on OCLC, or elsewhere.
