The earliest of these photos shows CORE demonstrators in favor of equality in the building trades, peacefully obstructing the entrance to City Hall in July 1963 (illustrated). 4 show protesters involved in the New York school boycott throughout 1964. 13 are from the week of the Harlem Riot, 16 to 22 July 1964. One shows James Farmer and Bayard Rustin arriving at the site of the World's Fair in April 1964. One shows a large Harlem demonstration in support of the Selma marchers, March 1965. One from 1967 shows a delegation demanding rat control legislation in 1967.
