Additional Details

These posters promoted a rally in support of the Wilmington Ten, who had by that point been jailed for more than four years. Both posters feature the same design, with a portrait of the jailed Rev. Benjamin Chavis by Rupert García. One is printed in green, black and brown on white paper stock. The other is printed on yellow-orange paper stock, with another poster for the same event on verso reading "Stop Racism, Stop Repression," featuring art by Consuelo Mindez Castillo. The posters were for a rally in Raleigh, NC, but were produced by a New York organization and actually printed in San Francisco. One example of each in OCLC.
