Mary Burnett Talbert (1866 -1923) was an American orator, activist, suffragist and reformer. Called "the best known Colored Woman in the United States," Talbert was among the most prominent African Americans of her time. Here she writes to James Needham, black abolitionist reformer and prominent member of St. Thomas A. M. E. Church Philadelphia.
