"The official inaugural committee says that District hotels and restaurants have been asked not to discriminate against colored citizens for the three days of the inaugural. we say: democracy is a year-round affair. . . . Insist on service in any restaurant you wish to enter. If you are refused, remind the manager of the Inaugural Committee's promise."
