Images of Sharpton in action at various New York protests and press conferences. He is shown upon his return from the island of Vieques in 2001, after protesting the Army bombing program there; with the parents of Patrick Dorismond, who had been shot by police in 2000; and with Daniel Reyes and Keshon Moore two of the unarmed college students who had been shot by police during a traffic stop in 1999 (illustrated). He is also shown at press conferences with public figures such as Cornel West, Ralph Nader, Johnny Cochran, and Camille Yarbrough. The photographs were taken by Azim Thomas, a freelance photographer who documented the period; they have not been published. With a key prepared with the assistance of the photographer.
