Includes a January 1965 double portrait of Sheriff Jim Clark, whose brutal suppression of voter registration helped spark the marches. A 7 March shot of the first "Bloody Sunday" march shows John Lewis and others being shoved by gas-masked riot police. Finally, a 9 March photo shows the marchers crossing the Pettus Bridge in the face of police presence.
