Dan Butler (1879-1953), Omaha political figure, mayor and the subject of this broadside was voted out of office in 1945, after more than a quarter century of Omaha politics. Butler was defeated by Charles Leeman who was able to garner the Negro vote, after an incident in which a policeman kicked and beat a colored woman.
