Additional Details

"Col. Hall's Brigade & Col. Owen's hold the town. Gen. Sully's line is deployed along the river & in reserve. Between 40 & 50 prisoners have been taken. We have lost heavily in officers & men. We could not advance far into the city tonight on account of fear of firing upon our own men. My headquarters are 4 doors to the left on the first street after crossing. I await your orders."
