GETTYSBURG ADDRESS (CIVIL WAR--1863.) North American and United States Gazette. Approximately 310 issues, each 4 pages, 29 x 23 inches. Folio, cloth-backed boards, covers detached; quite brittle and worn. sold with all faults. Philadelphia, January to December 1863

Additional Details

The 20 November issue prints Edward Everett's stirring address at Gettysburg, on the front page, with Lincoln's more renowned words relegated to page 2, near the bottom of the fourth column. This issue is chipped and torn, not affecting the president's words. The issues covering the Battle of Gettysburg are present and intact; the issues for January, February, and late December are quite a mess.
