The Inquirer produced these point-of-sale advertisements for select issues of their daily newspaper. This issue is full of dramatic headlines, leading with a victory by a local Philadelphian: "Gen. Kelley Wins a Battle!" (Benjamin Kelley led Union troops to victory in a skirmish at Romney, VA). Also included are a "Brilliant Charge of Gen. Fremont's Body Guard!" (at the Battle of First Springfield in Missouri) and "The Naval Fight at New Orleans!"
