"Gid J Pillow Maj'r / Gen'l Comm'dg A[rmy of] T[ennessee]," to General Samuel Read Anderson, ordering two regiments to Memphis, ordering that they be prepared for deployment by next Tuesday, ordering him to advance at the rear of two more regiments the following day, describing the outfitting of the regiments, and requesting a Brigadier General and the Commissary General. Boggs. "WRBoggs / Brig Gen&ChfofStaff," to General Sterling Price, explaining that Colonels Tyler and Claiborne are to report to him, and conveying the Commanding General's [Edmund Kirby Smith] recommendation that Tyler and Claiborne be given commands of brigades. Each 1 page, 4to, Boggs on pale blue paper; Pillow with faint soiling along left edge and remnants of mounting along right edge verso, Boggs inlaid and with faint bleedthrough at middle left, docketing on verso, folds.
