The Yates Ironsides regiment was named after Illinois governor Richard Yates, and was recruited in late September 1862 (see Chicago Tribune, 15 and 25 September 1862). This broadside features a dramatic cavalry wood engraving by Baker of Chicago, boasts of experienced officers, and promises a $100 bounty including a $40 advance.
