Additional Details

Provides for the election and duties of band leaders, rehearsal schedules, and two clauses that will be appreciated by musicians across many genres: "No sounding on instruments will be allowed after the Band is called to order by the leader," and "Any member making himself drunk and incapable by indulgence in intoxicating drink, or otherwise disgracing himself and the band when out serenading, shall be fined five dollars." Signed by 12 band members, all of them soldiers in the 12th Maine Infantry Regiment. John Shaw enlisted on 10 March 1864, and Robert Swett mustered out on 7 December of that year, narrowing the date range.
