Later editions of works copyrighted in 1861, in attractive original wrappers. The cavalry volume was owned by Colonel William Rotch Wister of the 20th Pennsylvania Cavalry, a Philadelphia lawyer perhaps best known in athletic circles as "the father of American cricket." The artillery volume is signed by early owner E. George Walters and bears inked stamps of the Franklin Institute Library.
