Additional Details

A map of a thirty-mile area of the Shenandoah Mountains in Highland and Augusta Counties, apparently drawn up after the pursuit of Stonewall Jackson's cavalry in 1862. It was drawn by Major George Penny Webster of the 25th Ohio Infantry for Nathaniel McLean of the 75th (later a brigadier general). Both regiments served in the area, and the 75th saw its first combat here at Monterey on 12 April 1862. This map was drawn up before McLean's promotion to brigadier general on 29 September, and before Webster's 8 October death at the Battle of Perryville.
