Ephemera relating to the "Minute Men" of the 6th Massachusetts Militia who faced the first fighting of the war in the Baltimore Riot en route to the defense of Washington. Includes:

A pair of discharges for two of these three-month volunteers: George V. Barrett of Company B, and George A. Smith of Company C, signed by various regimental officers (one of them by noted Colonel Edward Franc Jones). One issued in Boston and one in Marblehead, MA, early August 1861.

6 elaborate invitation tickets for reunion banquets of the Association of Massachusetts Minute Men of '61, plus one registration form, Boston, 1891-1899.
