"Only those faithful Soldiers who, from wounded or the hardships of War, and no longer fit for active field duty will be received in this Corps of Honor." These soldiers, promised the same pay as regular infantrymen, performed light garrison duty and freed up able-bodied soldiers for duty on the front lines. The broadside is illustrated with a large eagle woodcut bearing the banner "The Union Forever!" No other examples traced in OCLC or at auction.
