Additional Details

Younger brother Edwin Mosher (1840-1924) went south with the 16th New York Light Artillery; his 3 undated letters were sent from North Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia. Older brother Henry Mosher (1837-1925) apparently did not serve, but went to work in Union-occupied Nashville in 1864. He mentions that his friends "saw a negro coming and there was some soldiers coming along the same time. The negro turned out for them to pass. As they past him, one of them gave him a blow which stagerd him. He recovered himself and went on without looking back for fear of more" (29 May 1864).
