Additional Details

Every newspaper in the nation covered the Battle of Fort Sumter and its surrender, but we know of no other newspaper which spells out the matter this clearly in a front-page headline: "Civil War Begun!" This New Hampshire newspaper places the blame on abolitionists: "The Negro Question culminates in blood, as we have so long feared and so often predicted."
