"$1,000.00 for $1.00, a Camp Chest Filled with Silver." Letterpress broadside, 12 x 9 1/2 inches; minor toning and wear at edges. An advertisement for the Great Central Fair held to benefit the United States Sanitary Commission. Each visitor could pay a dollar and "vote for their favorite general." The winning general would get a chest filled with a thousand dollars worth of camp silver. Philadelphia: King & Baird, [June 1864].
Blank illustrated certificate, 7 1/4 x 7 1/2 inches, printed in red, blue, and black; trimmed. "We the subscribers, do hereby agree to support and assist the Government of the United States in its efforts to put down the Rebellion" and "oppose all [persons who are plotting and endeavoring to cripple our Government."
