Additional Details

Describes a Confederate ambush of two Union divisions which did not go as planned: "This division was just starting when a rebel battery opened up on us. We formed line and waited until one of our batteries got in position, which soon silenced the reb. . . . The 2nd Corps were a little in the rear of us on another road, they were attacked about the same time. The rebels mistook them for the advance, and attacked them on the flank . . . and were captured."
