Alexander Gardner. "Studying the Art of War, Fairfax Court-House." 7 x 9 inches; mat toning to mount. Plate #45, professionally matted with text leaf tipped to mat board underneath mat. The standing officer is Colonel Ulric Dahlgren, famous for leading a heroic but fatal cavalry raid on Richmond in 1864. June 1863.
