A satire on Jefferson Davis, who was captured on 10 May 1865 while wearing his wife's cloak. Here he is mocked by Union troops while his wife defends him. Davis, who had famously declared the Union naval blockade to be a blessing in disguise, here announces "I plainly perceive that this is another blessing disguise!! and the greatest of them all!!!" Peters 1618.
