A detailed mapping of the opening battle of Burnside's North Carolina expedition, showing forts, opposing naval positions separated by piles and sunken vessels, battle lines and movements, a line of "trees cut by rebels night before the battle," and topographical features. The mapmaker was Ethan Blodgett, a flagbearer in the 21st Massachusetts Infantry, "who planted the first State Flag upon the Rebel Battery, at 12 o'clock 5 minutes P.M." One in OCLC (Boston Public Library) and none traced at auction.
