A metamorphic caricature print which can be folded to display a four-part story. It begins with Beauregard and his steed as they "meditate on the best way of attacking the Federal Army." They appear alarmed to "hear that the Federal Army is approaching," and in their panic their two heads are swapped. This was likely produced circa March or April 1861, when Beauregard rose to prominence as the first general in the new Confederate Army, but certainly before the July Battle of Bull Run established that Beauregard and the Confederates were no jokes.
