Thomas Francis Meagher (1823-1867) began the war as a captain in the famed Irish-American 69th New York Infantry, but took command as colonel shortly after Michael Corcoran was captured at Bull Run. He became a brigadier general in February 1862 as commander of the Irish Brigade. None listed in OCLC.
