(CLYDE-MALLORY LINE.) Group of approximately 60 photographs of ships in the line, principally of the "Iroquois" and "Algonquin," most in 8x10 inch format. Principally 1930s

Additional Details

Includes a number of vintage photographs of the Iroquois being escorted to New York by American warships. The convoy had been ordered by President Roosevelt after he had received intelligence from Admiral Raeder of the German navy saying that allied ships would sink the "Iroquois" in an effort to enlist United States assistance against Germany. It turned out to be pure fabrication on the German Admiral's part.
