Additional Details

"A political satire on Will Prigg [i.e., William Pitt], comparing Brobdingnagians to North Americans & Lilliputians to Englishmen"--European Americana 739/138. The engraving shows Pitt floating on a cluster of bubbles titled "Pride Conceit Patriotism Popularity," "Spanish War," "North America," and others. While European Americana hypothesizes a 1739 date, Ewart was printing at the Strand from 1762 to 1765; which coincides with the Anglo-Spanish War of 1762-63 and the British involvement in the French and Indian War. Only one copy in ESTC, and one other located at the British Museum (assigning a 1762 date). None known at auction.
