An archive of 40 sets of photographs in glassine envelopes from the iconic studios, comprising approximately 266 male physique images. This large archive with an array of imagery, including some intimate close-ups, some explicit tableaux with pairs, and some charming singles, but all showcasing imagery that is sensitively rendered in natural light. The group includes: 120 photographs with a Colt Studio stamp (3 variant stamps, 20 sets); approximately 130 photographs with a Target Studio stamp (17 sets, 2 apparently not complete, and 2 sets that cannot be removed from their sleeves); 16 photographs without a stamp (2 sets); and one set with 7 photographs of drawings (one with a Colt stamp and one with a Target stamp). Silver prints, the images measuring approximately 165x114 mm; 6 1/2x4 1/2 inches, and the reverse, the sheets slightly larger, most sets feature one print with the Target or Colt Studios copyright stamp on verso; all enclosed in the original glassine envelopes, the Target Studios sets with a stamp or label with a model's name or set name stamp on the front. 1970s.
