These acts regulated the commerce of the British North American colonies (mainly Upper and Lower Canada) and the British West Indies, and also relate to trade with the United States before and after the War of 1812. Examples include "An Act to Facilitate the Trade and Intercourse between Ireland and the United States of America" (1801), "An Act for the More Effectual Recovery of Penalties and Forfeitures incurred in the British Colonies and Plantations in America" (1809), "An Act to Prevent Foreign Goods of Certain Descriptions being Brought from the United States of America into Canada" (1812), and "An Act to Carry into Effect a Convention of Commerce, Concluded between His Majesty and the United States of America" (1816).
