Each is identified and numbered in a period handwriting. With a cdv of Gen. Robert E. Lee signed on the original photograph, and portraits of Breckenridge, Hampton (a Confederate cavalry leader), Longstreet, Preston of SC, Stewart, various members of the Johnson klan, Fritz Lee, Rooney Lee, Pickett, Geary, Keershaw, Mosher, and others; many with the photographers' credit on mount verso. 8vo, debossed morocco; front cover and front free endpaper detached but present, lacks backstrip (contents detached); brass clasps; all edges gilt. 1861-65
