Additional Details

An advertisement for the "Kurious and Comic Krew of Antiques and Horribles," part of a tradition of "parades of horribles" in rural New England which survives to this day. Among the promised participants are "Chief Trump and Aids." The amusingly named "M.T. Head" was serving as Chief Trump for the day. The broadside promises that "the Grand Cavalcade will form at High Noon, and under the direction of the Chief Trump will proceed twice through the principal streets, and wherever else he may see fit to lead, provided the rank and file take a notion to follow him." Among the many other attractions were a band billed as the Pequot Nerve Destroyers, with the warning that "each member is corpulent and flatulent to an alarming degree." One copy in OCLC, and none known at auction.
